Refrigerator Water Dispenser Not Working
A dispenser that won't pour water is usually one of three faults: a frozen line, a filter problem, or a failed inlet valve. The fix is straightforward once you know which.
Common causes
- A frozen water line in the door — the most common cause, especially if the freezer is set very cold.
- A clogged or incorrectly installed water filter restricting flow.
- An overdue filter that's never been changed (replace every six months).
- A faulty water inlet valve, or low household water pressure.
- A stuck dispenser switch or control board.
A note on Frigidaire Professional and similar models
On premium models with a filter bypass, the dispenser won't run at all if the filter or bypass plug isn't seated correctly. Reseat or replace the filter first — it solves a surprising number of 'dead' dispensers before any real repair is needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if the line is frozen?+
If ice still dispenses but water doesn't, a frozen line in the door is the likely cause. Turning the freezer down a degree or two and thawing the line often restores flow.
