Dryer Guide
How to Change a Dryer Door to the Other Side
Many dryers — including most LG models — let you reverse the door so it opens from the opposite side. It's handy when the dryer sits beside the washer and the doors clash, or when the layout of your laundry room would work better the other way.
The general process
- Unplug the dryer first.
- Remove the screws holding the door hinge to the cabinet, and lift the door off.
- Move the hinge, door catch, and strike plate to the opposite side using the pre-drilled holes.
- Re-hang the door on the new side and check it closes flush and latches cleanly.
Before you start
Not every dryer supports reversal — check your model's manual for the swap holes and a step-by-step diagram. The door panel itself sometimes needs to be flipped too, and the inner and outer panels have to line up so the latch engages. If the door won't sit flush or latch after the swap, the panels likely went back in the wrong orientation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can every dryer door be reversed?+
Most modern dryers can, but not all. The manual will say — look for door-reversal instructions and the second set of hinge holes on the cabinet.
