Refund Policy

Last Updated: September 2, 2026

At Valve Appliance Repair, we want you to feel confident about the service you receive. This Refund Policy explains how refunds are handled for appliance repair services, diagnostic visits, labour, parts, cancellations, and other charges.

Because appliance repair involves time, professional labour, diagnosis, travel, and parts, some services and charges may not be refundable once they have been provided or authorized.

This policy applies to services booked through Valve Appliance Repair in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

1. Service and Diagnostic Fees

A service-call or diagnostic fee may apply when a technician visits your property to inspect an appliance.

This fee covers the technician's time, travel, inspection, testing, and diagnostic work.

Once the diagnostic or service visit has been completed, the applicable service or diagnostic fee is generally non-refundable, even if you decide not to proceed with the recommended repair.

If a promotional offer provides different terms, the terms of that promotion will apply.

2. Repair Services and Labour

When you authorize a repair, you are authorizing Valve Appliance Repair to perform the agreed repair work.

Charges for labour that has already been performed are generally non-refundable.

If a repair cannot be completed because of circumstances discovered during the service, such as a discontinued part, unsafe appliance condition, hidden damage, or another issue outside our reasonable control, we will explain the situation and discuss the available options.

3. Parts

Replacement parts ordered, supplied, or installed as part of an authorized repair may be subject to the manufacturer's or supplier's return policy.

Some parts cannot be returned once they have been installed, used, specially ordered, or opened.

If a part is defective and is covered by an applicable parts warranty, Valve Appliance Repair may arrange a replacement or other appropriate remedy in accordance with the applicable warranty.

A parts refund is not automatically available simply because a customer later decides not to proceed with a repair.

4. Authorized Repairs

Before proceeding with a repair, our technician will explain the recommended work and applicable charges where reasonably possible.

Once you approve the repair, the associated labour, parts, and other authorized charges become payable.

If you change your mind after authorizing the repair, refund eligibility may depend on whether labour has already been performed or parts have already been ordered, supplied, or installed.

5. Cancellations and Rescheduling

We understand that plans can change.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please contact us as soon as possible.

Where a cancellation occurs before a technician has been dispatched, there may be no charge, depending on the circumstances.

A late cancellation, missed appointment, or inability to provide access to the appliance may result in a service or cancellation charge where applicable.

Any applicable cancellation charge will be communicated to you.

6. Missed Appointments

If our technician arrives at the scheduled service address and cannot reasonably access the appliance, the appointment may be treated as a missed service appointment.

Examples may include:

  • Nobody being available to provide access
  • Incorrect or incomplete service address
  • Appliance not being accessible
  • Customer refusing access after the technician arrives
  • Unsafe conditions preventing the technician from performing the service

A service or cancellation charge may apply in these circumstances.

7. When a Repair Does Not Fix the Problem

We understand that customers expect an appliance repair to resolve the problem identified during the service.

If the same problem returns after a completed repair and the repair is covered by an applicable warranty, please contact us promptly.

We will review the situation and, where appropriate, arrange a warranty assessment or follow-up service.

A refund is not automatically provided simply because an appliance develops another problem after a repair.

Appliances contain multiple components, and a different component may fail after the original repair. Problems unrelated to the original repair are not necessarily covered by the repair warranty.

8. Repair Warranty and Refunds

A repair warranty and a refund are not the same thing.

Where an applicable repair warranty exists, Valve Appliance Repair may first attempt to correct the covered issue rather than provide a refund.

Warranty coverage is subject to the terms and exclusions communicated at the time of the repair.

A warranty may not apply to problems caused by:

  • Misuse or improper operation
  • Accidental or physical damage
  • Electrical problems or power surges
  • Water damage
  • Pest or rodent damage
  • Improper installation
  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications
  • Failure of another component
  • Normal wear and tear
  • A separate or unrelated appliance problem

9. Overpayments and Duplicate Payments

If you accidentally make a duplicate payment or pay more than the amount owed, please contact us.

After confirming the transaction, we will review the payment and, where appropriate, issue a refund for the confirmed overpayment.

Refunds may be returned using the original payment method where reasonably possible.

10. Refund Requests

If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact Valve Appliance Repair as soon as possible.

To help us review your request, please provide:

  • Your name
  • Service address
  • Date of service
  • Invoice or transaction information, if available
  • Description of the issue
  • Reason for the refund request

We may review the service records, technician notes, invoice, payment information, and applicable warranty or promotional terms before making a decision.

11. Refund Processing

If a refund is approved, we will normally return the funds using the original payment method where reasonably possible.

The time required for the refund to appear in your account may depend on the payment provider, bank, or card issuer.

Valve Appliance Repair is not responsible for delays caused by a customer's bank or payment provider after the refund has been processed.

12. Promotional Offers

Promotional offers, coupons, discounts, and special pricing may have specific terms.

Where a promotion contains refund, cancellation, eligibility, or service conditions, those conditions apply to the promotion.

Promotional discounts cannot necessarily be combined with other offers unless explicitly stated.

13. Incorrect Charges

If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, please contact us before initiating a payment dispute whenever reasonably possible.

We will review the invoice and service records and work with you to resolve legitimate billing errors.

This does not affect any rights you may have under applicable law or through your payment provider.

14. No Waiver of Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Refund Policy is intended to remove, restrict, or limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable Ontario or Canadian law.

Where applicable law provides you with rights that are more favourable than this policy, those legal rights will continue to apply.

15. Changes to This Refund Policy

Valve Appliance Repair may update this Refund Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, business practices, or applicable requirements.

The latest version will be published on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

16. Contact Valve Appliance Repair

If you have a question about a charge, cancellation, repair, part, warranty, or refund request, please contact Valve Appliance Repair.

We will review your request based on the service provided, applicable warranty or promotional terms, payment records, and applicable law.
