Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: September 2, 2026

Welcome to Valve Appliance Repair. These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for using our website and the terms that apply when you request or purchase our appliance repair services.

By using this website, contacting us, booking an appointment, or authorizing a repair, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website or services.

1. About Valve Appliance Repair

Valve Appliance Repair provides residential appliance repair and diagnostic services in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Our services may include repair and diagnosis of:

  • Refrigerators and freezers
  • Dishwashers
  • Washing machines
  • Dryers
  • Ovens and stoves
  • Ranges and cooktops
  • Other household appliances

Service availability depends on the customer's location, appliance type and model, technician availability, parts availability, and the nature of the repair.

2. Booking a Service Appointment

When booking an appliance repair service, you agree to provide accurate and complete information.

This may include:

  • Your name and contact information
  • Service address
  • Appliance type
  • Appliance brand and model
  • Description of the problem
  • Any other information reasonably required to arrange the appointment

Accurate information helps us assign the appropriate technician and prepare for the service visit.

Appointment times are provided as estimates rather than guaranteed arrival times. Traffic, weather, emergency service calls, previous appointments, parts availability, and other circumstances may occasionally affect arrival times.

If we need to change an appointment, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.

3. Diagnostic and Service Calls

An appliance repair appointment may begin with a diagnostic assessment.

The purpose of a diagnostic visit is to identify the likely cause of the appliance problem and determine whether repair is practical.

A diagnostic assessment does not guarantee that the appliance can be repaired.

A service-call or diagnostic fee may apply depending on the service requested and any applicable promotion.

Any applicable fees will be communicated to the customer before or during the appointment whenever reasonably possible.

4. Repair Estimates

After inspecting your appliance, our technician may provide an estimate for the recommended repair.

Estimates are based on the condition of the appliance and the information available at the time of inspection.

In some cases, additional problems may only become apparent after the appliance is opened, disassembled, or further tested.

If additional work is required that materially changes the expected cost, we will explain the situation and seek your approval before proceeding whenever reasonably practicable.

A customer is not required to authorize a repair simply because a diagnostic assessment has been completed.

5. Authorization to Perform Repairs

Before repair work is performed, the customer may be asked to approve the proposed repair and associated charges.

By authorizing a repair, you agree to pay for the services, labour, parts, taxes, and other charges that you have approved.

Once a repair has been authorized, our technician will perform the agreed work using reasonable professional care.

If the condition of the appliance changes or additional problems are discovered during the repair, additional authorization may be required.

6. Appliance Parts

The parts required for an appliance repair depend on the appliance brand, model, age, condition, and nature of the problem.

We will use parts that are appropriate for the repair. Depending on availability, a part may be new, refurbished, rebuilt, or manufacturer-approved.

Parts may occasionally be discontinued, unavailable, or backordered by the manufacturer or supplier.

If a required part cannot reasonably be obtained, we may recommend an alternative solution or explain why completing the repair may not be practical.

7. Appliance Condition and Accessibility

Customers are responsible for providing reasonable and safe access to the appliance.

Before the appointment, customers should remove items from the appliance where necessary and ensure that the technician has enough space to safely perform the repair.

Customers should also inform the technician about known hazards, previous repairs, unusual installation conditions, or other circumstances that may affect the service.

Valve Appliance Repair may refuse or stop a repair if the appliance or work environment is unsafe, inaccessible, severely damaged, improperly installed, or otherwise unsuitable for service.

We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, hidden defects, corrosion, deterioration, or other conditions that existed before our technician began work.

8. Repair Warranty

Where a warranty applies to a repair, the applicable warranty period and coverage will be communicated to the customer.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, a repair warranty applies only to the particular repair work and/or parts covered by that warranty. It does not automatically provide coverage for the entire appliance.

A repair warranty may not cover a new or unrelated problem resulting from:

  • Misuse or improper operation
  • Accidental or physical damage
  • Electrical problems or power surges
  • Water damage
  • Pest or rodent damage
  • Improper installation
  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications
  • Failure of another component
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Problems unrelated to the original repair

Manufacturer warranties are separate from any warranty provided by Valve Appliance Repair and remain subject to the manufacturer's applicable terms.

9. Repair Results

Our goal is to provide an effective and reliable appliance repair whenever repair is reasonably possible.

However, not every appliance can be successfully repaired.

The age, condition, previous repair history, availability of parts, and underlying condition of an appliance can affect the outcome of a repair.

For older appliances, replacement parts may no longer be manufactured or available.

In some circumstances, replacing an appliance may be more practical or economical than repairing it.

Our technician will explain the available options based on the condition of the appliance.

10. Payment

Payment is due for authorized services and repairs according to the payment terms provided at the time of service.

Available payment methods may include credit card, debit card, electronic payment, or other payment methods offered by Valve Appliance Repair.

Customers are responsible for applicable taxes and all authorized charges.

11. Cancellations and Missed Appointments

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appliance repair appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.

A missed appointment, late cancellation, or inability to provide reasonable access to the appliance may result in a service or cancellation charge where applicable.

Any applicable charge will be communicated to the customer.

Refunds, where applicable, are governed by our separate Refund Policy.

12. Customer Responsibilities

To help us provide safe and efficient appliance repair service, customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information when booking.
  • Providing reasonable access to the appliance.
  • Informing our technician about known hazards.
  • Obtaining any required permission from a landlord, property manager, condominium corporation, or other responsible party.
  • Securing pets when reasonably necessary for technician safety.
  • Paying all authorized charges.
  • Following reasonable instructions provided by our technician.

Delays or additional service requirements resulting from inaccurate information, lack of access, unsafe conditions, or customer-caused circumstances may affect the appointment or service.
